I have been thinking a lot about Elder Uchtdorf's talk during the General Relief Society Brodcast entitled "Happiness, Your Heritage." He talks about creating.
I've been trying to find ways that I can create...cleaning and beautifying our home, creating happy experiences for Maren, finding organization in my life. etc.
This is my new creating that I am so super proud of. I've only croched hot pads before when my mom was trying to teach us. Here is the pattern. And this is a website that has videos of each crocheting stitch. Thanks Joyce G. for helping me read the pattern. I'm so excited how it turned out, and get this...I did it in one day!

That hat is just adorable! I think you have a bright future of hat making ahead of you! I love your new dishes too - how fun! Oh, and way to go on the budget...maybe Andy can talk some sense into Josh. (I don't need it of course.) :)
Wow- that was fast, now you can make one for Brooklyn- and me!
Really cute! I might have to have you show me how, I can't seem to read the patterns very well!
Way to go Angie!! One thing that has inspired me is you. I have to teach the Y.W. on Sun. and the lesson is on Associations with Others and it got me thinking about who I associate with. I have learned a lot from being your friend over the last 15 years. Holy cow that is a long time! But in small ways you have grown my testimony, helped me forgive others, live the gospel more fully, appreciate more, *budget*, be grateful, and realize what a true friend is. Thank you for being you and for being a great friend!
p.s. love the dishes! I might follow your lead.
I'm impressed Ang, the little flower is the perfect touch! I need to get more creative. Hey, did you get any pictures while you were here in DC? I discovered after you left that there was a big fingerprint on our lense that ruined all my pics. So sad! Send me some if you got any.
It looks like you had a blast on the cruise. How fun. Can I live vicariously through you. I'm getting a little cabin fever with the new baby. Blogs have seemed to help this time around :)
Loved your budgeting advice. I used to steal from other areas and in the end it doesn't work for the same reasons your hubby told you. Love your new dishes! White will go well with everything, very classy! Miss you!
The most interesting family blog I've read so far. And I've read hundreds of them over the years. Second best would be Wakley's- his wife should be a writer.
What I've always loved about you is 1. ALWAYS a positive spirit (as if you never ever faced any sorrows in your life) and the way you always say just enough, never too little or too much. Now that's an art I will never be good at. It's great to see you are still as perfect as ever. Who wouldn't love you?
Love,
Živana
Adorable hat on an adorable girl! I love her little smile!
I love your idea of creating something more than a pile of folded laundry -- do I dare get a little crafty? Miss you!
